The Studio of Bark Design Architects

esigned an inspiring modern office spaces for their own emerging architectural practice studio located in Noosa Heads, Queensland. This workhouse is a flexible spaces for a design team of five to six people, a house for two people and a comfortable combination of both at times.
The Studio is perched on only four steel footings in order to slot between two mature Australian Eucalypts, the modular 20 metre long structure of steel portal frames is encased with openable and fixed glazing on three sides, layered with operable blinds, framing the broad views of the Pacific coastline.
The main linear work space was conceived as an open veranda with compactly scaled service spaces ’plugging in’ along it’s length. These service spaces include Kitchen, Laundry, Bathrooms, File and Drawing Storage and vertical circulation.
From the main studio platform, folded plywood stairs ascend past the large ‘shopfront’ window box, displaying models of past and current projects to a mezzanine level which contains spaces for architecture books, quiet reading, sleeping and bathing.

Some say that it’s useless and absurd as the bookshelf only able to hold a few books in it, but I would not say so. The idea of having a slope on this bookshelf else than placing the book in its mere manner is to be able to make the other books in front and back of it able to lay upon the book which has been firmly hold by the slope. This way the book won’t fall, else than that the space remain; if you didn’t want to place your boo in this Juxtaposed bookshelf; you can put other ornaments into it. So I dare not say that this is a useless bookshelf as it might turn out handy because you don’t need to buy book stand. If you are interested in this simple bookshelf than it’s available at the price of $3000, which of course the price might be bugging you a bit compare of worth the idea. VitraHaus Complex Yet Sleek Home Design by Herzog & de Meuron

What would have come first to your thoughts when you are about to design a house? Complex is the answer. Designing a house never been easy because there are themes, landscape, and interiors that you need to think carefully. One step forward into a wrong design might blow up the whole idea of your dream house.
This VitraHaus house design presented by Herzog & de Meuron is definitely complex. It’s not your everyday house design on the block that you could see daily. This is a house with the idea of stacking one after another with inter connection between each room. The look is complex but still able to manage the look of chic and sleekness. Curve frames of the house makes it look like that the curves actually the bare bones and the strength needed to built, but it’s not. The curve frame found in one particular place of this house is designed to add more emphasize that this house is very much contemporary.
As we take a peek inside of this house, you will also notice that you will find a stairway interconnecting between the rooms in a very unique wavy design. This is a perfect match to the exterior curvy frames which I’ve been mentioned before. Huge glasses of windows are found surrounding the house which makes it very typical of a contemporary house design. This is what I called a complex contemporary home design and if you have two houses and wanting to join them together the idea of stacking like this one might be perfect because you don’t need to reconstruct everything. It’s more than a house. It’s a Contemporary work of art.
